The declaration record is the document that initiates the customs clearance, where basic data about it is broken down: merchandise information, importer exporter, transaction regime, local, people involved and responsible etc..

currently, the entire process is electronic and automatically transferred to the Revenue system which will start the rest of the steps.

2. Distribution

It is the moment when there is a first conference of information based on the parameters of the Siscomex (Integrated Foreign Trade System) in an automated way. in it, there will be a definition if the data submitted are regular and defines the necessary procedures. There are four channels that the dispatch can follow are:

  • Verde: Customs Clearance is granted automatically, everything is ok with the goods and the documentation;
  • Yellow: the process will undergo a documentary conference, there is something wrong such as non-conformity of information, omission, lack of required documents etc.;
  • Red: the process will undergo a documental and physical conference. There may have been a discrepancy between the description and the product;
  • Grey: irregularity is confirmed, dispatch will go through documentary conference, physical and special customs control procedure, to investigate the companies involved in the process. The merchandise can be confiscated and those responsible are summoned to be legally responsible for the process..

4. Re-delivery of documents

In the case of the red channel, the process goes back to the beginning, and it is necessary to adapt and re-deliver all documentation.

5. customs conference

After documents pending resolved, the responsible authority sets the date for the final conference of the dispatch, physically and documentation.
